Selling my home in Sacramento and buying a new home at the same time could have easily been stressful, but John Campos kept the entire process organized and moving forward. When we first listed the house, it was getting close to the holidays and the goal was to hopefully sell before I left town for them. This review is so long overdue, and I can't say enough good things about John. When my husband and I first told John we were interested in buying, he connected us with his lender and within a week, we were pre-approved and ready to put an offer in. No words can describe how incredible John is. I first reached out to John over a year ago looking to sell my rental home, but had a situation where I need to evict a tenant. So I couldn't put my house on the market. Not only did he advised how to evict the tenant, he checked-in with me throughout the year to see how the process was going. While researching realtors I decided to go with John because I could not find anything negative written about John on the internet, and for a good reason—he is very responsive (even when the seller’s agent took days to respond), helpful and knowledgeable and made the home buying process much less stressful. John’s knowledge and sense of humor made me feel at ease! As a first-time homebuyer, he walked me through all steps of the process and called whenever I had a question about something. We had our offer accepted despite not having the most money down or offering the most for the house—John is so great at his job! He was able to provide recommendations for inspectors and also contacted experts to provide quotes for a few issues that came up during the inspection. I highly recommend him!

He made our second buying experience so smooth despite all the issues that arose due to me being on maternity leave and not having a return to work date. Fun fact: The house went on the market the same day I was in the hospital delivering our first baby. John helped me to sell a house in Sacramento in 2019 and he did a fantastic job. He helped me plan how to prep the house, did a great job with general and social media to advertise, and was friendly and efficient through the entire project. I would recommend him highly.

So my experience with John started when the property manager of my old duplex and I got into a bit of dispute. They wanted to illegally increase the rent by 40% and I wanted them… not to do that? So I called around to some tenant lawyers (two out of about ten actually answered, and of those two only one was willing to give a free 15 minute consultation). I called the city, I called the county, I called a couple people I knew in property management. All of them essentially said, “That’s illegal, but if you don’t wanna go to court, then move out.” Not exactly the helpful advice I was hoping for, but a good start. So, I called an old friend from high school, John Campos. Over lunch, John gave me some tips on where to look for housing that would fit my family’s budget and had a few suggestions for us. But with the way Sacramento is coming up, and the influx of new residents, it seemed like rent payments were pretty much on par with paying a mortgage. At some point, I said something along the lines of “I wish we could afford to buy,” and John gave me a funny sort of look and said, “Well… maybe you can.” From that point forward, John was honestly a godsend. He put us in touch with his preferred lender, but gave us tips and suggestions if we wanted to shop around for others. He talked us through the more opaque aspects of getting our finances together. He listened carefully and made note of all of our family’s needs and sent us listings that would suit us. He got us showings as quickly as possible - sometimes even day of. He fought tooth and nail for the properties that we loved, used his know-how and enthusiasm to make our offers as competitive as possible without breaking our budget, and expressed honest disappointment when (through no fault of his own) we just couldn’t beat a higher bid. Whenever we were confused or unsure of something, he was always only a text or quick call away, ready and willing to provide answers and clarifications immediately. Thanks to John, after a little over a month of searching and shopping and pouring over Zillow and Redfin like they were the Bible, our offer was accepted. It’s a home that my entire family loved the moment we set foot in it, and we couldn’t have found it, fought for it, or closed it without John Campos. TL;DR If you want to buy and you think you even just MIGHT be in a position to do so, I can’t imagine there’s any better realtor in Sacramento to put your faith in, to talk through ideas with over tacos, to have your back as you search for a for-now or a forever home than John Campos.
